The Challenge

Creating a secure and user-centred digital platform for citizens and stakeholders.

The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI), under the Department of Justice, required a modern, secure and citizen focused public website that delivers its newly established regulatory mission.

The platform needed to communicate clearly with the public, provide transparent access to regulatory information and support secure engagement for industry stakeholders while providing support for the evolution of the body over the next few years as it becomes established.

Key challenges included ensuring compliance with strict accessibility standards, building multilingual capabilities (Irish and English) and integrating with core systems to support licensing and complaints through our partnership work with Deloitte in delivery of a Salesforce integration.

Our solution went beyond providing a website, it created a regulatory platform that is secure, extensible and easy to manage.

The service integrated with Salesforce to ensure that the licensing and complaints processes could be managed seamlessly while strengthening operational efficiency and accountability.

We empowered GRAI’s communications team to independently manage multilingual content, while the bespoke design system which was aligned with UK Gov Design System principles, guaranteed brand cohesion and accessibility across all digital services.

This combination of strong governance, inclusive design and technical resilience directly supports GRAI’s mission of protecting citizens and regulating industry fairly.

Outcome

A future-proof foundation for Ireland’s gambling regulation.

The GRAI platform was launched successfully as a multilingual, secure and WCAG 2.2 AA-compliant service. It achieved sub 2 second load times, 99.9% uptime and high SEO performance, while significantly reducing publishing overhead for GRAI staff.

The Salesforce integration established a streamlined licensing and complaints process, while the extensible design system provided a consistent identity for all current and future regulatory tools. This outcome delivered not only a website, but a robust, scalable digital foundation for Ireland’s new regulatory framework.
