Dundee City Council wanted to help its residents and visitors to Dundee to navigate its full range of public transport options and to choose more sustainable transport options. The challenge was to integrate a huge range of new, traditional, and sustainable travel modes and information feeds into one elegant compelling mobile app experience for users. GetGo is a Mobility as a Service (MaaS) App that makes it possible for citizens of Dundee to plan book and pay for travel across the city's full range of public transport options while also encouraging active and sustainable options such as electric vehicles.
The GetGo app is truly one travel app to rule them all - providing plan, book and pay capability across Taxi, Bus, Rail, Car Hire (CoWheels & Enterprise), Cycle & eBike Hire (RideOn) in and around the City of Dundee.
The app provides both mapped and feed based real-time & POI information including real-time bus & train tracking, car park availability (JustPark), weather forecasts, EV charging point status (Open Charge), toilets and event locations. User can also access information about events and news in the city and benefit form event specific transport offers, promotions and discount codes.
GetGo is currently in test pilot phase with city flagship destinations such as Dundee Utd Football Club, Westfest, Drive Dundee Electric and Sustainable Dundee
